WHO IS IN THE ROOM?

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. Zephaniah 3:17 ESV

Would your life be different if you were more aware that Jesus is present in every thought, conversation, and situation you are in today and always?

  • Would your words be different?
  • Would your actions be different?
  • Would your work be different?

If you were to picture Him at your table, watching television with you, on the subway with you, .or in traffic with you, would anything change? If you were to imagine Him standing beside the person you are talking to, would your conversation be different? I know mine would.

Why is it we are so quick to forget that He is with us? An ever-present help, Psalm 46:1, reminds us. He is always with us.

Is it because we can’t physically see Him that we quickly forget He is here with us? He is here as I write, and He is with you as you read this page.

How many times have you changed your behavior because you could see a law enforcement individual was present? Have you ever slowed down to the speed limit, or stayed at a stop sign longer because you saw a police officer’s car? Or how about even as a grown adult when Mama is in the room, you are careful not to use certain words or say certain things??? As a parent, you may turn the television to a different channel when your child comes in the room.

We tend to change our behavior when we notice who’s present in the room or situation.

God is always in the room. God is always in every situation. The psalmist reminds us that we can never leave God’s presence. Psalm 139:7-12. May we grow in living like that truth. He is right here with us, always.

You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand, there are pleasures forever. Psalm 16:11 NASB

Father God, we ask You to help us become more aware of Your Presence. We want to remember that You are present in every thought, every conversation, and every situation and act in ways that honor You, bless You, others, and us. We ask forgiveness for ignoring You. You are worthy Jesus of our love, trust, and attention. You are worthy! In Your Name, we pray, amen.
