Remember, I commanded you to be strong and brave. Don’t be afraid, because the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 ERV
Does your school or church have a lost and found box or table? Have you ever looked there to discover, ‘hey, there that is!’
When we lose an object we don’t care about like a stubby, no eraser. needs sharpening pencil, we don’t even look for it but we look for a different one. We look for an already sharpened, ready-to-use pencil. If we lose an ugly brown sock that we don’t care about we don’t go out of our way to look for it. If our parent wants to know where that ugly, brown sock is then we give it some effort trying to find it.
Do you have a favorite stuffed animal that you like to sleep with at bedtime? Or perhaps you have a favorite action figure or toy? Have you ever lost those things? Were you sad? Were you hoping you would find it? Did you ask others to help you look for it? Where are the places you looked? Did you wish it would just jump up and say, ‘Here I am?’ How did you feel when you found it? Did you feel relieved? Happy? Did you tell others when you found it?
If you didn’t find it, are you still looking? What did you imagine happened to it? Did you replace it?
You are so valuable to Jesus, He is always looking for you. He wants to spend time with you. He wants to listen and talk with you. He would leave any situation to come to help you. He will never replace you. You are His precious child You are not lost, you are found and His heart is full.
God has said, “I will never leave you; I will never run away from you. So we can feel sure and say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. People can do nothing to me.” Hebrews 13:5b-6 ERV
Father God, thank You for never losing me or replacing me. Thank You that I am valuable to You. I sometimes feel like I am not important to anybody but I am important to You. Thank You, Jesus. In Your Name, i pray. Amen.
