color: #000000;\"><strong>SPIRITUAL DEMENTIA<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Dementia is the general term for those who experience memory loss and other abilities interfering with their routine and daily life.\u00a0 Dementia patients can wander.\u00a0 They may expect to walk to the post office but they get turned around, lost and unable to find their way back home.\u00a0 Dementia patients can be easily agitated, repetitive, suspicious, even forgetting about personal hygiene, eating and drinking.\u00a0 Dementia patients often forget the names and faces of their family and friends leaving their loved ones to cope with complex grief, loss, loneliness and heartbreak.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>        <div class=\"rmwr-wrapper\" \n             data-id=\"rmwr-69e5a47b74d8a\"\n             data-mode=\"normal\"\n             data-animation=\"fade\"\n             data-duration=\"300\"\n             data-smooth-scroll=\"true\"\n             data-scroll-offset=\"0\">\n            <button \n                type=\"button\"\n                class=\"read-link\" \n                id=\"readlinkrmwr-69e5a47b74d8a\"\n                data-open-text=\"Read More\"\n                data-close-text=\"Read Less\"\n                aria-expanded=\"false\"\n                aria-controls=\"readrmwr-69e5a47b74d8a\"\n                aria-label=\"Read More\"\n            >\n                <span class=\"rmwr-text\">Read More<\/span>\n            <\/button>\n            <div \n                class=\"read_div\" \n                id=\"readrmwr-69e5a47b74d8a\"\n                aria-hidden=\"true\"\n                data-animation=\"fade\"\n                data-duration=\"300\"\n                style=\"display: none;\"\n            >\n                <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;color: #000000\">When we forget who our God is we encounter much of what dementia sufferers experience.\u00a0 We wander.\u00a0 We get lost, turned around and easily agitated.\u00a0 Others try to help us find our way back, praying for us but we are slipping away.\u00a0 When we forget His face that looks at us with amazing love, we are broken.\u00a0 Forgetting His Name, His Word, His promises,His character, His faithfulness, His many blessings to us causes doubt, struggle, worry, anxiety, unrest. Our growth is interrupted, stunted and it affects others.\u00a0 We must not forget.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;color: #000000\">David in the Psalms often starts out praying about his circumstances, then he begins to remember who God is and His past provision and faithfulness.\u00a0 The same psalm will often end in David rejoicing, trusting, his strength and countenance renewed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;color: #000000\">Will you remember today the face, the name, the truth, His many blessings and faithfulness? He immediately regretted the decision but what was done was done. The Bible says he didn\u2019t sleep, eat, or enjoy entertainment all night.\u00a0<strong>        <div class=\"rmwr-wrapper\" \n             data-id=\"rmwr-69e5a47b75d2f\"\n             data-mode=\"normal\"\n             data-animation=\"fade\"\n             data-duration=\"300\"\n             data-smooth-scroll=\"true\"\n             data-scroll-offset=\"0\">\n            <button \n                type=\"button\"\n                class=\"read-link\" \n                id=\"readlinkrmwr-69e5a47b75d2f\"\n                data-open-text=\"Read More\"\n                data-close-text=\"Read Less\"\n                aria-expanded=\"false\"\n                aria-controls=\"readrmwr-69e5a47b75d2f\"\n                aria-label=\"Read More\"\n            >\n                <span class=\"rmwr-text\">Read More<\/span>\n            <\/button>\n            <div \n                class=\"read_div\" \n                id=\"readrmwr-69e5a47b75d2f\"\n                aria-hidden=\"true\"\n                data-animation=\"fade\"\n                data-duration=\"300\"\n                style=\"display: none;\"\n            >\n                <\/strong> <\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">King Xerxes listened to Haman (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><span style=\"color: #503299;text-decoration: underline\">Esther 3:8-15<\/span><\/strong><\/span>) and signed a decree that would annihilate the Jewish people.\u00a0 It says that as the king and Haman sat down to drink after the decree was issued the city was thrown into confusion.\u00a0 After Esther reveals Haman&#8217;s evil plot, the king is livid, and has Haman hung in the gallows<span style=\"color: #4b0ac4\"> (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Esther 7:9-10)<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Pontious Pilate listened to the Jewish priests and then the crowd\u00a0(<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><span style=\"color: #503299\">Matthew 27:22-26<\/span><\/strong><\/span>) and a murderer was released from prison.\u00a0 Innocent Jesus was sentenced to be crucified.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"> The choices we make, the decisions we render affect people and situations to a greater degree than we ever realize. May we make them with Godly wisdom being very careful of whom we are listening to.\u00a0 How do we know if a decision is Godly?\u00a0 Does it line up with Biblical truths? <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #4b0ac4;text-decoration: underline\">James 3:17<\/span><\/span><\/strong> tells us &#8216;But wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Who are we listening to? What is their motive?\u00a0 Is it Biblical?<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><span style=\"color: #503299\"><a style=\"color: #503299;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"https:\/\/biblia.com\/bible\/esv\/1%20Cor%2015.33\" data-reference=\"1 Cor 15.33\" data-version=\"esv\" data-purpose=\"bible-reference\">1 Corinthians 15:33<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Do not be misled: \u201cBad company corrupts good character.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Prayer: Father, may your voice be the loudest voice in our heads. We want to follow you Jesus. In Your Name, we pray. Are you infecting others, or putting them at risk?\u00a0 Why wouldn&#8217;t you at least try to protect society? People are struggling.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The variety of masks available are copious; N95, cotton, disposable, surgical, respirator, personalized all with an assortment of patterns, colors, designs, messages, businesses.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Physically wearing a mask may be new and uncomfortable for most of society but most of us have worn an emotional mask at different times in our lives.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Depressed people pretend to be happy, introverts pretend to be extroverts, unsure people pretend to be confident. Maybe the most popular mask people often hide behind is &#8220;I&#8217;m fine&#8221; when their world is crumbling around them. Another frequently used mask is &#8220;I can&#8217;t&#8221;. People think they can&#8217;t succeed or move forward and they limit their potentials.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">The Bible tells us to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #4104b3;text-decoration: underline\">Colossians 3:12<\/span><\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 Let us put on and wear these genuine qualities rather than our masks.\u00a0 In doing so we will bless Him and others. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><span style=\"color: #4104b3;text-decoration: underline\">Colossians 3:14<\/span><\/strong><\/span> reminds us above all &#8216;put on love.&#8217;\u00a0 Love is the vaccine that makes wearing emotional masks unnecessary.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><em>Father, may we love as You love, with others&#8217; best interests in mind. Help us today to live as vessels of love. The world needs love, they need You.
