ECHO – A Children’s Devotional

God cannot lie when He says something. Hebrews 6:18 ERV

Have you ever created an echo? To create an echo you need a large space with walls or mountains. The school gymnasium or a large empty basement will work. Some large, tiled bathrooms will provide the necessary space. Certainly, mountaintops and canyons work, too. After finding your space, sing, sing a song, loud and proud, just sing. When you stop singing the walls will continue to sing your song – that is an echo.

An echo is a cool effect unless it is a negative thought in your mind. If someone has ever called you a name or said something about you that hurt, it is often tempting to keep thinking about those negative words, letting them echo in our minds. Those types of echoes are destructive, very destructive.

Positive echoes are remembering what God says about you is true. He says you are loved. He says you are important and valuable. He says you are chosen. He says He has plans, purposes, and good works for you to do.

God doesn’t lie. Three times in the Bible we are told God doesn’t lie. People lie, kids lie, but God doesn’t lie. Numbers 23:19, Titus 1:2, Hebrews 6:18.

If you say ‘no one loves you,’ you’ve just lied because God loves you. God loves you so much. John 3:16. No one loves you more. John 15:13

You may feel alone but let His truth echo in your mind “Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord, your God is with you wherever you go” Joshua 1:9, you are never alone.

What words are you going to let echo in your mind and heart today? Choose truth, choose His Words and be stronger.

Yes, God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him would not be lost but have eternal life. John 3:16 ERV

Father God, please replace all the negative thoughts in our minds with Your thoughts, Your truths, Your promises. Thank You that You are not like people, You do not lie and we can trust in You, Jesus. Thank You, in Your Name, we pray. Amen.
